Systems Administrator

Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and user support for the PCs, servers, network, cloud services, cybersecurity, backup, audio/visual, and phone systems to ensure availability to critical business systems.

Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves problems encountered in the PCs, servers, network, cloud services, cybersecurity, backup, audio/visual, and phone systems; works with vendors to resolve such problems in a timely manner.
- Proactively monitors the IT systems for high availability and respond to any alerts seen in the systems.
- Provides Tier-2 helpdesk support in the IT helpdesk system; Resolves end user issues in a timely manner received via the helpdesk system, email, phone, or in-person.
- Manages the hardware and software assets including inventory, licensing compliance, and warranties.
- Ability to lead process improvement initiatives – looking for ways to increase workflows, processes, and/or efficiencies.
- Creates and maintains technical documentation stored within the team's knowledge base.
- Performs preventative maintenance on IT equipment, including but not limited to patches, monthly updates, reboots, and any hardware / software changes.
- Flexibility to work some nights and weekends in order to install patches, upgrades, or other project work.
- Rotates IT-on-call functions during assigned nights and weekends with other members of the IT team.
- Encourages automation by leveraging PowerShell and/or other scripting languages.
- Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative; communicate project status, activities, and achievements to other team members.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Education/Experience:
Associates degree in a computer related field or two (2) years’ related experience required. Minimum of two years hospital experience preferred. Experience analyzing and designing process improvements preferred. Experience with Windows Servers, Active Directory and Office 365 preferred.
- Technical Skills:
Experience in managing network and server systems is preferred. Experience and knowledge in the use of electronic patient documentation/order entry systems preferred. Experience in designing and performing software education programs. Very strong communication skills required. Works independently, takes initiative, and possesses good organizational abilities.

- PC Competencies:
The incumbent must demonstrate an understanding and working knowledge of the Windows Server environment as well as an ability to access and use information in meaningful ways. The incumbent must have the ability to access, manipulate, organize and relay information in meaningful ways using email, word processing and spreadsheets. A deep understanding of networking and server administration with experience is preferred.
