Services Provided 


Dallas County Hospital Offers a full spectrum of emergency, inpatient, and outpatient care, unique to a rural hospital.  With 18 visiting specialists and a 24 hour, 7 days per week, physician always on site Emergency Department, we are here for you. 

Medical/Surgical


               DCH is a 25-bed unit providing care to a variety of patients including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics 24 hours a day.  There is an emphasis on quality of life and prevention of potential life threatening problems.  Patients come with a variety of medical disorders including

·                     Pneumonia

·                     COPD

·                     CHF

·                     A-Fib

·                     Diabetes

·                     Cellulitis

·                     Stomach Disorders

·                     Bowel Obstructions

·                     Fractures

·                     Sepsis

Patients also come to our facility for skilled services due to:

·                     Total Hips

·                     Total Knees

·                     General Weakness to work with physical therapy/occupational therapy to become independent with activities of daily living.

Hospice Serenity Suite

 
 

The Dallas County Hospital Serenity suite provides a home like environment for those who need to be hospitalized for pain management, for family’s to have a respite, or when a patient can no longer stay at home for their final days of life.  Hospice of Central Iowa provided the initial kick off donation and Dallas County Hospital is very grateful for their support.   The hospital works closely with local hospices to enable people to live with dignity and hope while coping with loss and the coming end of life. All of the gifts will truly make a difference in the lives of Dallas County Hospital’s patients and family members. For more information please click here

Finding yourself in need of emergency medical services can be frightening.  From the moment you arrive at DCH, the Emergency Department Team is committed to offering you the highest quality care and treating you with compassion and respect.  Remember the Ambulatory Care provided by our dedicated staff:

·                     IV Antibiotics

·                     Infusions

 Lab
         DCH lab offers many beneficial services to all seeking medical help.  The laboratory offers a Walk-In-Wellness program as well as certified DOT drug and alcohol testing. DCH Lab offers many different tests including chemistry, hematology, and coagulation.  DCH Lab also offers screening tests for influenza, strep throat, and pregnancy. The staff is professionally trained and certified and look forward to helping you in a courteous manner.

Radiology Services
                Extensive Radiology services are provided on-site at DCH. The Radiology department provides on-site services such as General Radiography, Computerized Tomography (CT), Ultrasound, Mammograms, Bone Density (osteoporosis screening), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Echocardiograms, Vascular Doppler Studies and Nuclear Medicine.  DCH will soon be installing a Computerized Radiography (CR) system that will enable a Radiologist to “interpret” your exam 24/7 which will enable us to get a report to your physician much more quickly.
