Dallas County Hospital in Perry was recently named a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital (rural hospital) by iVantage Health Analytics, a national consulting firm. The award places DCH in the top 8% of Critical Access Hospitals across the county, with the selection criteria including clinical and operational performance, and financial and qualitative outcomes.

The Wellness Council of Iowa recognized Dallas County Hospital and eight other Iowa employers, for excellence in worksite health promotion on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the fourth annual Healthy Iowa Awards. The awards were hosted at the Hy-Vee Conference Center in West Des Moines, Iowa. These eight organizations join a growing list of America’s Healthiest Companies as judged by the Wellness Council of America and the Wellness Council of Iowa.

Dallas County Hospital has been recognized by the Iowa Healthcare Collaborative with a Divisional Patient Safety Award for “Hospital Acquired Conditions – Opportunities to Reduce Patient Harm.” This award specifically recognizes the improved patient fall rates and initiatives implemented by Dallas County Hospital nurses and staff.

Dallas County Hospital generates 114 jobs that add $8,930,163 to Dallas County's economy, according to the latest study by the Iowa Hospital Association. In addition, Dallas County Hospital employees by themselves spend $2,909,750 on retail sales and contribute $174,585 in state sales tax revenue.
