Dallas County Hospital generates 127 jobs that add $9,759,650 to Dallas County's economy, according to the latest study by the Iowa Hospital Association. In addition, Dallas County Hospital employees by themselves spend $3,490,991 on retail sales and contribute $209,459 in state sales tax revenue.
The Iowa Department of Public Health has recently suspended the Iowa Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (IBCCEDP) due to unanticipated costs. As such, Dallas County Hospital, which currently provides screenings under this program, has temporarily postponed enrollments until at least July, 1, 2011, when funding for IBCCEDP is scheduled to be reinstated.
