Carpal tunnel

The cause of their carpal tunnel syndrome is unknown for many people. Any condition that puts pressure on the median nerve at the wrist can cause carpal tunnel syndrome. Common conditions that may lead to carpal tunnel syndrome are obesity, diabetes and arthritis. Tendon inflammation resulting from repetitive work, such as uninterrupted typing, can also cause carpal tunnel symptoms.

In order to avoid serious and permanent nerve and muscle consequences of carpal tunnel syndrome, surgical treatment could be considered. Surgery can reduce pressure on the median nerve and it can now be performed with a an arthroscope  by open wrist procedure.

Release of trigger finger

Trigger finger occurs when one of your fingers or thumb "catches" in a bent position.
If trigger finger is severe enough, the finger or thumb may even become locked in that position.

A small incision is made in the palm of the hand. Thickening or lumps on the tendon may be scraped off or a slit is made in the tendon sheath to allow the tendon to move freely.

DeQuavarians contracture

DeQuervain's contracture is a type of tendonitis that can be caused by injury or repetitive activities.

DeQuervain's contracture is treated surgically by opening the tendon sheath on the thumb side of the wrist.

Dupytren's contracture

Dupytren's contracture is a thickening of the tissue between the skin and tendons on the palm of the hand.  This can affect the use of your fingers and if it becomes severe enough, you cannot fully straighten the fingers.

Dupytren's contracture is treated surgically by removing the tissue.
