Facilities Team Named Service Hero of the Month

The Facilities Department has been named the Dallas County Hospital January Service Hero of the Month! Their concern for the safety of patients and employees, as well as maintaining the building, stood out to Service Pillar members during the month of December.

Patients, employees and even board members have noticed how well the parking lots have been cleaned, despite the abundance of snow and ice this winter season. “I had a board member stop me and commend the hospital on how well the parking lots were cleared. The extra precautions they take are noticed and appreciated by the staff, patients, visitors and guests,” said Ryan Smith, Service Pillar leader.

Additionally, in the second quarter of this year, DCH Facilities ranked in the top 12% nationally. “I appreciate how even if they are going off duty, they still answer their phones and pass my concern on to the next maintenance staff on duty to make sure the problem gets fixed as soon as possible,” said House Supervisor Margo Starr.

“They are a great group of guys. They know what is expected of them, they do their job and they do it well,” said Facilities Manager Bill Griffith. “They make my job look easy.”
