Dallas County Hospital Receives Donor Award
Perry, Iowa – Dallas County Hospital was presented with the Tissue Consent Rate Award from The Iowa Donor Network on May 13th. Awarded to Hospitals who receive a consent rate over 50%, this marks the second time Dallas County Hospital has received this honor.
“We are excited and grateful to receive an award of this nature,” said Donna Vandehaar, Dallas County Hospital Chief Clinical Officer. “Dallas County Hospital is proud to assist in upholding the Iowa Donor Network’s mission of saving and transforming lives through organ and tissue donation, transplantation and education.”
The Iowa Donor Network (IDN) is a non-profit organization that operates as the primary contact for organ, tissue and eye donation services for the state of Iowa. As the name indicates, IDN serves the entire state of Iowa. It works with more than 100 hospitals across the state and engages in many interrelated activities including organ and tissue recovery, organ distribution, public education, hospital development, and family support services.
